I arrived last night in a Davos buried under a thick blanket of snow and fog, the narrow streets jammed to a standstill with a motley assortment of traffic.

Clean-energy shuttle buses (new to Davos this year) struggling through the snow drifts were mixed up with gigantic media lorries, tractors with chains on their wheels and a long train of limousines and people carriers, including one we passed containing a rather weary looking Panamanian delegation.
