Aberdeen Asset Management enjoys strong year

Aberdeen Asset Management, the UK fund manager that earlier this year acquired Scottish investment house Murray Johnstone, saw profit more than double in the financial year 2000, to £35.2m (€57.6m).

Acquisitions and net new fund investments of £4.5bn both contributed to profits.
