Aberdeen chief gets pay hike after split cap settlement

Martin Gilbert, chief executive at Aberdeen Asset Management, got a 23% salary hike last year, despite the company recording pre-tax losses of £87.6m (€127.2m) as a result of the split cap settlement with the UK regulator.

Gilbert's annual pay package rose from £376,000 in 2003 to £461,000, according to Aberdeen's accounts to the end of September 2004.
