ABN Amro Capital acquires bike accessories group in secondary deal

ABN Amro Capital has bought Frank Thomas, a UK motorcycle clothing and accessories distributor, from Barclays Private Equity in a secondary buy-out worth £38m (€53m) .

Barclays Private Equity, which is owned by the UK bank, backed the management in a deal worth £20m in 1999. It bolted three further acquisitions on to the helmets-to-leathers group, whose brands include Streetmate, Dynamic, Lewis and Zeus. Frank Thomas has doubled its size since then and improved its international presence.
