ABN Amro financing vehicle breaks new ground in Europe

Tulip, a financing vehicle owned by ABN Amro, has become the first European conduit to obtain &quotpost-review status&quot from Moody's, the rating agency.

The decision means that the conduit, which buys assets and finances the purchases by issuing short-term commercial paper in the asset-backed securities market, can purchase new assets without first obtaining a ratings confirmation from Moody's.
