Private equity firm Actis beat target to raise $278m for a real estate vehicle that will invest outside the South African market

Investors have demonstrated their appetite for opportunities in Africa outside of the region's most established markets, by backing a $278m fundraising for investment in sub-Saharan real estate.

Actis, an emerging markets-focused private equity firm, will invest in east, west and southern Africa but not South Africa, the most established of the continent's markets.
