Aegon's focus on asset managment pays off

Aegon Asset Management's institutional business grew by 30% in the full year of 2001, with new mandates totalling more than £410m (€663.5m), compared with the previous year.

The company inaugurated a stand-alone asset management arm only in 1998 and has established itself as a growing fixed income manager in the market. Strong demand for corporate bonds helped the firm cement its position as an up-and-coming player in the UK.
