AIB and Bank of Ireland set up joint venture for technology

AIB Group, the banking group that includes Allied Irish Bank and the Bank of Ireland, is to create a new company into which the two banks will outsource their technology operations.

The company, a joint venture between the banks, and in which each will hold an equal share, will combine the two parties' respective IT infrastructures to provide IT services, on a commercial basis, including data centre operations, networks and desktop management services.
