Air China disappoints in debut trading

Shares in Air China, the first company to float in Shanghai since commercial lender Industrial Bank pulled its listing earlier this month, have sunk below the issue price on the airline's first day of trading.

Shares sank to 2.77 yuan in early trading, 1% below the issue price of 2.80 yuan. It reached the issue price later in the day but by mid-afternoon in China had failed to exceed it.
