Amvescap profits plunge in second quarter

Amvescap, the Anglo-American fund manager, has continued its dismal performance run with pre-tax profits down by some 30% for the second quarter of 2002.

Profits for the quarter dropped to £95.1m (€151.1m) from £135.7m in the second quarter of 2001. Funds under management totalled £239.5bn as of June 30, a fall of £22.3bn since December 2001.
