Analysts get behind Ford's new bond issue

Analysts are encouraging investors to buy Ford's new €5bn ($4.3bn) benchmark bond issue because it offers enough yield pick-up to compensate for the negative outlook for the auto sector.

Ford hopes to raise €5bn from a three-year deal run by BNP Paribas, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and UBS Warburg. The global bonds will be priced on Wednesday.
