Aon starts search for a new chief executive

Aon, the insurance giant and owner of the Aon Consulting pension advisory arm, has started the search for a new chief executive following the decision by Patrick Ryan to resign.

Ryan, 67, a founder of the company who served Aon and its predecessor company for 40 years, will continue to serve as chief executive until a successor is named. He will become chairman once the role is filled.
