Apax makes €160m from Autonomy exit

UK private equity house Apax Partners netted a €160m ($190m) profit by selling its 7% stake in Autonomy, the software development company, in spite of the recent slump in technology stocks.

Apax invested €3m in Autonomy in 1996. Sources close to the deal calculated that Apax's investment yielded a €160m profit. Apax was unable to confirm the figure.
