Argonaut Capital’s CEO Barry Norris was holidaying on the beach in the summer of 2008 when he got a call from one of the hedge fund’s investors, who was furious about the weekly performance.
“I was running a long-only fund at the time. The investor said the fund had a terrible last week and I replied, ‘I am on holiday’. He took a pause and said, ‘Remind me not to invest in your fund when you are on holiday’,” Norris tells Financial News.
