Ashmore and UOB emerging market CDO well timed

Ashmore Investment Management and UOB Asset Management have closed a $170m (€192m) collateralised debt obligation (CDO), backed by emerging market bonds and loans.

The move by the UK's Ashmore and Singapore-based UOB follows a rise in yields in emerging markets in the past two weeks amid concerns about economic uncertainty, particularly in Argentina.
