Asian investment in City of London offices hits first-half record

Asian money is pouring into office investments in the Square Mile at a pace rarely seen before, according to new analysis by one of the big property agencies, with an executive at the firm predicting a rise in interest from Malaysian buyers this year.

Investors from Asia spend about £1.83bn on offices in the City of London during the first six months of a typical year, according to Savills. But new figures from the agency show that the total for the first half of this year is already close to £3.4bn, a record for the period.
