Asset management helps ING to €5.4bn

ING Investment Management, the fund management arm of Netherlands financial services group ING, grew assets 17.8% to €538bn ($633bn) in the nine months to September 30.

The funds increase was mostly driven by higher currencies and rising stock markets. It included a €255m gain from the sale of Baring Asset Management earlier this year to financial services groups Northern Trust and Mass Mutual.
