Axa chief in China goes after watchdog rebuke

The top China executive of French financial services firm Axa has resigned after the company received warnings from regulators over illegal policy sales to Chinese citizens from its Hong Kong office.

Bloomberg reports that Mark Pearson, Axa's regional chief executive for life insurance, said Allan Lam, chief executive of China-based Axa-Minmetals Assurance, left the firm last week for "personal reasons".
