BAM names new chief investment officer

Michael Hughes, head of UK and European investment management, has been promoted to chief investment officer of Baring Asset Management.

The appointment follows the departure earlier this year of chief investment officer William Braman. He joined Boston-based John Hancock Funds to oversee its $30bn retail, institutional and private client investment business.
