The last week of September has been particularly busy for Bank of America Merrill Lynch and its US investment-grade bond team, led by Jim Probert.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based investment bank has helped more high-grade companies in the US raise more money than any of its peers since Monday, working on nine deals worth a total of $7.1bn, according to Dealogic.
