Bank of China opens Swiss private bank, appoints top managers

The Bank of China has become the first Chinese bank to open a wealth management business in Switzerland after receiving regulatory approval to launch a private bank and asset management operation from the Swiss financial authorities.

The move comes after the acquisition of Geneva-based Heritage Fund Management, which will provide the bulk of the assets management operations. Heritage will be re-branded to BOC (Suisse) Fund Management.
