Bank of Scotland and Halifax legal fees kept down to £6m

Legal advisers netted just £6m (€9.8m) of the £76m of fees from the Halifax and Bank of Scotland merger.

The £6m was divided chiefly between Herbert Smith, lawyers for Bank of Scotland, and Linklaters & Alliance, lawyers for Halifax, according to sources close to the UK banks.
