Banks staff up for M&A boom

Investment banks are planning a hiring spree to capitalise on the expected boom in mergers and acquisitions business this year, according to the inaugural M&A Monitor produced by IntraLinks and Financial News.

More than three quarters of the survey's respondents who work for investment banks said their companies were recruiting additional staff this year – with the majority focusing on junior and mid-level people to execute deals.
