Barclays Capital has hired John Langley from Merrill Lynch to co-head the UK bank's corporate risk advisory business in Europe. Langley spent 11 years at Merrill and has been head of the bank's risk advisory group and co-head of corporate risk management.

Langley joins Barclays in June as a managing director and will advise its European clients on their risk management strategies.
