Barclays Capital spreads its wings after fixed-income boom

Barclays Capital has reaped the rewards of the fixed-income boom over the past three years but the investment banking arm of UK group Barclays is starting to outgrow its debt-focused tag.

Like several of its competitors in Europe and on Wall Street, Barclays Capital, led by chief executive Bob Diamond, last week reported record full-year revenues and profits for the second year running.
