Barclays has hired UBS's head of energy and infrastructure M&A in Europe as the UK lender continues a push into advising on the transition to clean energy sources.

Rafael Abati has been named co-head of Barclays' energy transition group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a new division within its investment bank launched in January. He will lead it alongside Marie Freier, its former head of ESG research.
