BlackRock names head of advisory group

BlackRock has appointed a new head of its financial markets advisory group, the unit recently charged with managing $15bn (€9.6bn) of mortgage-related securities purchased from UBS through a fund.

Craig Phillips, formerly the global head of Morgan Stanley’s securitized products group from 1994 to 2006, joins BlackRock from alternative asset manager Ptarmigan Capital.
