BlackRock predicts sustainable ETF assets will top $400bn

World’s largest asset manager says responsible funds will increase ‘dramatically’ as ethical and environmental principles become commonplace among investors by 2028

BlackRock has predicted that global assets in exchange traded funds that have a sustainable focus will rise to $400bn over the next decade — an increase of some 1,500% from today’s figure.

The world’s largest asset manager estimates there is around $25bn currently invested in exchange traded funds that invest according to environmental or social standards, or prioritise companies with good corporate governance. Assets across all ETFs globally stand at $5tn, data from ETFGI shows.
