Blackstone boss Stephen Schwarzman takes home $1.1bn

Blackstone's assets under management reached $880.9bn by the end of the fourth quarter

Blackstone chief executive officer Stephen Schwarzman took home a record $1.1bn in 2021, underscoring the private-equity giant's growing dominance on Wall Street.

Dividends on his 19% stake in Blackstone accounted for the biggest chunk of Schwarzman’s haul, totalling $941.6m for the year. He also earned $160.3m in compensation, composed of profits tied to investment performance and a base salary of $350,000, according to a regulatory filing late on 25 February.
