Blackstone to take Apria private for $1.6bn

Blackstone has announced plans to buy Apria Healthcare Group in its second deal worth more than $1bn (€640m) since last July, just before the credit crunch began damaging the environment for private equity deals.

Apria’s board of directors agreed to be bought by Blackstone for $1.6bn in cash, or $21 per shares, a 33% premium over Wednesday’s close.
