Blackstone to write $1bn-plus cheques for long-term infra projects

The private equity giant has closed its first permanent capital infrastructure fund at $14bn

Blackstone Group closed on $14bn for its first permanent capital infrastructure fund, a vehicle that can write $1bn-plus cheques and structure long-term investments with no end date.

The fund has “the equity to do things that others can’t,” said a person familiar with the fund.
