Blue Water Energy, the energy-focused private equity firm set up by former executives from 3i Group, First Reserve and UBS, has hired a new dealmaker from Riverstone Holdings.

Ed Arulanandam, who joined energy-focused private equity firm Riverstone's London office from Goldman Sachs' natural resources group five years ago, is set to join BWE as a senior member of its investment team in the autumn following a period of gardening leave, according to a person familiar with the matter.
