BNP Paribas appoints Engel to head German corporate banking

BNP Paribas has appointed Wolfgang Engel head of corporate banking in Germany, to be replaced as head of its debt capital markets financial institutions (FIG) group by Anthony Fane and Alberto Matta.

Engel, who has been with BNP Paribas since 1998, will be based in Frankfurt and will report to Francois Cristofari, European head of corporate banking at the French bank. He will also join the BNP Paribas management board in Germany.
