BNP Paribas has hired a former manager of European mergers and acquisitions at Merrill Lynch to bolster its corporate finance drive in Spain.

The French bank has appointed Julio Babecki as a director in corporate finance to cover its large corporate accounts in Spain. He joins from Merrill Lynch where he was most recently co-head of middle market M&A for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
