BoA expands electronic trading

Banc of America Securities, the investment banking arm of Bank of America (BoA), has boosted its newly-created electronic trading services group by buying a technology company, two weeks after the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) expanded its electronic trading platform.

The bank has bought a US company called Direct Access Financial Corporation, whose technology links investors directly to the US markets, just a day after setting up an electronic single-stock and program trading division.
