Bolloré benefits from Rothschild reshuffle

Vincent Bolloré, the French corporate raider who made a €290m ($327m) profit on his stake in Lazard three years ago, has gained a 6.19% voting stake in Rothschild as a result of the bank's restructuring last month.

Last month, Rothschild combined its French and UK operations under the management of David de Rothschild. This meant that the French arm of Rothschild, via the listed Paris Orléans, increased its stake in the combined entity. This gave French shareholders greater overall control, while the UK Rothschild family's interest has been cut from 73% to 52.5%.
