Goldman’s co-head of bond sales in Europe to depart

In partner years, senior employees often retire to free up space for those moving up the ranks

The co-head of Goldman Sachs’s fixed income, currencies and commodities sales division in Europe is leaving after more than 14 years, as the US banking giant prepares to anoint a new class of future leaders.

Carl Faker, a Goldman partner who leads its FICC sales team in Europe, the Middle East and Africa alongside Patrick Street, will retire at the end of this year, according to a memo seen by Financial News.
