BNP Paribas' bonus sacrifice scheme

French bank BNP Paribas is offering a scheme to UK staff to donate a proportion of their bonus to charity

Amid all the negative news about banking bonuses comes word of a laudable initiative by French bank BNP Paribas, which is offering its UK staff a bonus sacrifice scheme under which they can donate a proportion of their bonus to charity, with the bank also making an employer contribution.

Participants can donate any amount above £100 and charities will benefit from tax and national insurance savings. The scheme relates only to the cash component of bonus payments.
