Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not rule out a new lockdown in London following a surge in the number of coronavirus patients being admitted to the capital's hospitals.

Hospitals have seen a "significant uptick" in the number of people entering intensive care units, according to the UK's chief medical officer Chris Whitty.
