Branson hints NTL will raise Virgin Mobile bid

Sir Richard Branson, 72% shareholder of Virgin Mobile said today he was confident a deal could be reached with UK cable group NTL. His comments came just hours after the Virgin Mobile board rejected NTL's £831m (€1.2bn) bid as too low.

Reuters reports that Sir Richard Branson told reporters in Sydney: "The deal is a marriage everyone wants to do".
