Brexit talks halted after member of EU team tests positive for Covid-19

The UK and the EU need to agree a deal before the end of the transition period on December 31

The EU and the UK have halted talks over a possible trade deal after one of the trading bloc's negotiators tested positive for Covid-19.

In a tweet on 19 November, the EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier said the two sides had jointly decided to “suspend the negotiations at our level for a short period”.
