David Shaw, the chairman of Bridgepoint, will head a new panel to advise Martin Currie's private equity group on a new quoted fund of funds it will launch at the end of the year.

Joining Shaw on the advisory panel is Neil Hood, a Scottish businessman and academic who is a board member of a number of public companies, David Shearer, a former partner at Deloitte in the corporate finance and private equity departments, Patrick Wilmerdig, a US banker and private equity investor, and John Gooch, who recently retired from a senior position at Wellington Management, a US fund manager.
