Bridgewell shares rise on market debut

Bridgewell, the UK stockbroker, has traded 6% up on its debut on London's Alternative Investment Market, despite volatile market conditions that have seen a record number of cancelled flotations.

NM Rothschild and Bell Lawrie, part of Brewin Dolphin, led the deal that saw 7.1 million shares issued at 140p, raising £8.2m (€11.9m) after expenses and valuing the company at £57.7m. Shares were trading at 150p by 10:45 GMT today.
