Britannic profits up 25% ahead of shift to multi-asset

Britannic Asset Management, the investment arm of the UK life assurer, recorded first-half profits of £5m (€7.3m) from £4m last year as it confirmed plans to diversify into hedge funds and property this year.

The Glasgow-based manager is repositioning itself as a multi-specialist asset manager as it shifts away from traditional balanced management.
