Broker organisation challenges Liffe on Sonia contract launch

The Wholesale Market Brokers Association, a London-based organisation that represents the interests of interdealer brokers, is challenging Liffe’s proposed launch of new short-term money market contracts.

The WMBA put out a statement on Thursday, stating it had not licensed the Sterling Overnight Index Average, or Sonia, benchmark to Liffe, the derivatives arm of NYSE Euronext.
