Canadian fund manager joins European onslaught

Canadian boutique Sarona has become the latest North American asset manager to take on Europe

Sarona Asset Management, a Canadian emerging markets-focused asset management firm, has become the latest North American fund manager to set up in Europe, as a growing number of firms look to cross the Atlantic.

The boutique firm, which manages a number of private equity and impact investing funds, has opened an office in Amsterdam and appointed a former Merrill Lynch and Gartmore director to lead it in Europe.
