Cider maker refreshes broking line-up after failed Spirit bid

C&C Group's takeover tilt for pub company Spirit created a conflict of interest, and has led to the swapping of Goldman Sachs for Investec

The Irish drinks company C&C Group, the maker of Magners and Bulmers cider, has swapped Goldman Sachs for Investec as its joint corporate broker, a month after the rejection of its takeover tilt for pub company Spirit - which was advised by the US bank.

In a statement this morning, C&C Group said it had appointed Investec Group as a joint corporate broker alongside existing broker Davy. Investec is replacing Goldman Sachs, according to three people with direct knowledge of the situation.
