Carlyle loses exclusivity agreement on ASE bid

The Carlyle Group will face a competitive auction process in Taiwan after an independent evaluation committee requested the termination of exclusivity agreements on a potential $5.7bn (€4.3bn) deal for a microchip manufacturer.

The committee, which was set up in November, has called for an open bidding process to be launched to invite other offers for Taiwan-listed computer chip producer Advanced Semiconductor Engineering.
