Carmignac welcomes back heir apparent

The daughter of the founder of €33bn (€47.3bn) French asset manager Carmignac Gestion has returned to the firm she is tipped one day to lead.

Maxime Carmignac, the 30-year old daughter of Carmignac Gestion's chairman and founder Edouard Carmignac, has returned from a year-long stint at two hedge fund firms. She is now the sole portfolio manger of the €100m Carmignac Market Neutral fund that she co-managed through its first year in 2007 with Keith Ney.
