The frothy state of the UK's mid-market private equity sector has supplied a stream of mandates for Cavendish Corporate Finance, a specialist adviser to vendors of businesses.

Howard Leigh, a managing director of Cavendish who co-founded the firm in 1988, has watched the market's transformation from the days when 3i, the UK's largest quoted private equity group, dominated the buy-out sector.
